About our Club

Holdfast Model Aero Club (HMAC) consists of a very active group of modellers (approximately 120 members at present) who enjoy the facilities provided at our field located 20 Kms south west of the city of Adelaide, South Australia. The flying site is unique in that it is located close to a main road giving exceptional exposure to the public.

Newcomers to R/C modelling who have joined HMAC are catered for on Sunday mornings from 10:00 am to 12.00 pm (except for the First Sunday each month and weather permitting). Qualified instructors will teach all aspects required for the safe operation of the model using HMAC equipment. During the Sunday training period no other models are allowed to fly, ensuring the least possible distractions to the student. Bookings are not required for HMAC Members.

Midweek flying training may be available, depending on individual Instructors.

Other than Sunday morning training sessions and occasional other events, the field is available for general flying from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm every day of the week. Due to the proximity of some houses, the club imposes a 96 dB noise limit. However, gliders and electric aircraft are not subject to noise checks and may be flown outside these hours.

Affiliate members from other MAAA Clubs are welcome to join HMAC.
