Fire Danger

HMAC is in the Adelaide Metropolitan Area fire ban district. Members need to be aware that DEW will close the O’Halloran Hill recreation park and hence our field on catastrophic fire danger days and may close the park on extreme fire danger days. Under the terms of our lease we are required to comply with any such closures. In any case it makes good sense to do so.

When a Total Fire Ban has been declared for the Adelaide Metropolitan Area, flying activity is prohibited at our Club, though general access to the field is still permitted if DEW has not issued a closure notice.

The following fire danger information is provided by the CFS. Please note that if a catastrophic fire ban is in effect for the Marion area, the HMAC Flying Field must not be accessed. Under the terms of our lease we are required to comply with any such closures.
